The Xennial Odyssey Podcast

After a long hiatus Mike Snelgrove from "The Probably Wrong Podcast" reached out and wanted to come back on to revisit some of the things we discussed almost two years ago and to discuss more recent things related New England sports, and what he and his podcast crew have been up to. 

Due to last weeks highly publicized shooting of the United Healthcare CEO, Remy wanted to so an episode about his frustrations with the healthcare and welfare systems. In doing so, it inspired Bobby to go on vents about his frustration with the collective willful ignorance and acceptance of average US citizens in allowing things to get out of control with many aspects of our lives. 

Long time listener and friend Jamie Stewart comes back to join us for our first "hate ones hate cast" episode. During the episode all three eat wings covered in various hot sauces from the "Hot Ones Party Pack" including the Apollo Last Dab, as well as one that Bobby Rox found on Amazon called "Odin's Wrath". After eating each wing/sauce they discuss something goin on in their lives that is upsetting, angering them, or making them "heated". 

Remy and Bobby Rox decided to delay the hate ones wing challenge a week and came on to discuss the poorly handled and executed live streaming event of Tyson vs Paul on Netflix. They also discussed how Mike Tyson was the last great boxer and how this hurts his legacy, as well as how Netflix has entered the live streaming game...and did terrible at it. Other topics discussed were how things from our youth are continually bastardized and how the once promising frontier of streaming is slowly getting corrupted. 

In this episode Remy and Bobby Rox discuss their new jobs and the anxiety that comes with new beginnings. Additionally, Remy asked if they could discuss the upcoming election (this was recorded on November 3rd 2024) and what anxieties and other feelings they had going into the change that this election would bring. 

On this episode Remy and Bobby Rox sit down and talk with videographer, plumbing tradesman, BMX Biker, and singer songwriter Tim Douglas, who may or may not be related to one of the hosts. They play 3 new songs from his debut album "Nostalgia" out now on Spotify and other platforms and recorded, edited, and mastered all by himself. They also discuss his inspirations as well as the state of the music industry as a whole. 

On this episode Remy and Bobby Rox [finally] get their first fan to come on and talk about themselves. Jamie Discussed his recent sobriety, how he relies on his faith and congregation as well as Alcoholics Anonymous to help him as he transitions during a tumultuous time in his life. He also wanted to discuss "Hot Ones" and clear the air for the bad rap his faith gets and we were extremely grateful and humbled to have him share his life story with us. 

Remy and Bobby Rox discuss the latest celebrity sex crime allegations involving Diddy (possibly others) as well as drawing parallels to the themes of the 1999 Stanley Kubrick film, "Eyes Wide Shut". 

Bobby Rox discusses a recent trend on social media where younger Millennials, and Gen Z are calling out Generation X...and Gen X is having a field day with it. Some highlights include the following; blaming Gen x for the state of the world (with a soundbite from social media and Gen X-er Sherri Dindal--"The Real Slim Sherri"), Text message etiquette, holding children accountable, featuring a soundbite from former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, and the negative fallout of such attitudes. 

In light of all the focus that has been paid to childhood actors and the hardships/abuse they've experienced, Remy and Bobby Rox look at Human Services and their experiences working in residential group home programs. They discuss the struggle the individuals go through as well as the trauma that staff experience and how working in such settings desensitize people to horrible things.
